Today I tried my hand at making some little booklets, in the future I would like to start making ‘real’ books. Here are some pictures, enjoy!

Sorry about the quality of the pictures, the lighting wasn’t great today! Again I’d love it if you left feedback!

Here are the henna designs I did over the weekend.

Henna Again

Tuesday, September 6th, 2011

Well, I am still doing henna! And lots of it! I am going to have a stand at the Festival of the Forks in two weeks and I have had a lot to do to prepare. I had to make a portfolio with all my patterns and test those patterns on people and then take pictures. Today I finished making the sign that I will hang up. Here are some pictures!!

Summer Vacation!

Thursday, May 19th, 2011

Well, I have finished school for the year! Now I have to figure out how to occupy myself until our wild ride of summer plans begin! I have about one day till then. This weekend we are having a garage sale, on Memorial day we have a party at our house, and we leave for Washington state in the beginning of June and are gone for about a month! Then I have a week to get ready to go to Mexico, before I leave for a week! Ahhhh! I am excited but I am hardly ever this busy!

I would like to get a summer job, but I wont be home for most of the summer so I don’t think that would work out! I would love it if I could get some babysitting jobs! Also this summer I am hoping to get my driving license and I have a feeling that I will have to start paying for my own insurance!

I am ready for summer!!

Monastery

Monday, March 28th, 2011

This weekend I went to a teen retreat at the monastery with Anastasia. At first I was a little nervous because I haven’t been to the monastery many times and I was going to meet new people. I had a great time and made some new wonderful friends from All Saints in Chicago. We went to service on Saturday morning and evening and on Sunday morning, I really enjoyed the music and the beauty of the sanctuary. On Sunday we went and did our morning prayers in the little chapel by the cemetery which is amazingly beautiful. The girls we met also sing, but are much better than Anastasia and I, and we sang on walks, in the hallway and in our rooms! I had a wonderful time and wished that I didn’t have to leave so soon. I can’t wait until next year!

Projects: Henna

Saturday, February 12th, 2011

For the past week I’ve been working on a few projects, henna and knitting. Last weekend my friend Anastasia and I used some henna that mom gave us all over our hands.  The henna is a little bit faded since we put it on a week ago.

This is the pattern Anastasia did on my left hand.

I really enjoy doing henna and at some point would like to try to earn a little money by charging people. I said I would like to charge people but I have a really hard time charging my friends.

Part of the henna I did on my hand.

A bird or dragon depending on the way you look at it.

The picture with the bird in it can also be a dragon if you turn the wing into the eye as shown in the picture below.

Mr.Squirrel on my rist.

My attempt at some more traditional style henna.

Hommock

Grandma sent the hammock,

The good Lord sent the breeze.

I’m here to do the swinging–

Now, who’s gonna move the trees?

How Many, How Much

Thursday, January 27th, 2011

How many slams in an old screen door?

Depends how loud you shut it.

How many slices in a bread?

Depends how thin you cut it.

How much good inside a day?

Depends how good you live ‘em.

How much love inside a friend?

Depends how much you give ‘em.

Loveliest of Trees

Monday, January 24th, 2011

Loveliest of trees, the cherry now

is hung with bloom along the bough,

And stands about the woodland ride

wearing white for Eastertide.

Now of my threescore years and ten,

Twenty will not come again,

And take from seventy springs a score,

It only leaves me fifty more.

And since to look at things in bloom

Fifty springs is little room,

About the woodland I will go.

To see the Cherry hung in snow.
